I proposed publishing a Korean version of a book that compiled his philosophy to add a little bit of support to Hatoyama's sincerity."
Hong Seok-hyun, chairman of JoongAng Holdings, emphasized the importance of breaking away from Japaneseism, saying, "The Hatoyama Yukio and Kunio brothers and I are longtime friends who are transparent with each other and understand and respect one another beyond nationality." The reason I wrote this book was because there were concerns that I might be walking the path I had taken before the inauguration of the Shinzo Abe (安倍晋三) administration."
"Japan should develop into a country with dignity in the international community through conversation and cooperation," he said. "Korea, China, and Japan should further strengthen their trusting relationship. To this end, Japan should apologize for all of its past mistakes."
