Preparatory Committee for the 30th Anniversary of Korea-China Diplomatic Relations (hereinafter referred to as the "Preparatory Committee") is an organization established to prepare for and contribute to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Korea in 2022, from civil and private dimensions, and to contribute to public diplomacy efforts between the two countries.

 

The Preparatory Committee closely collaborates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the National Assembly to cooperate on relevant projects. It involves numerous civil and private organizations in various fields such as politics, diplomacy, business, academia, media, culture and arts, and youth exchange, which are collectively participating in the Preparation Committee.

 

The major projects currently being pursued by the Preparation Committee include publishing a book related to the 30th anniversary of China-Korea diplomatic relations, a 1.5-track international academic conference in the civil dimension, private cultural exchange projects, youth exchange projects, and the promotion of the construction of a Korea-China friendship hall.

 

The Preparation Committee executes the blueprint outlined by the China-Korea Future Development Committee agreed upon by both countries, and it contributes to the development of Korea-China relations by operating on the civil organization level. Furthermore, it plays a role in commemorating the 2021-22 China-Korea Cultural Exchange Year and the Beijing Olympics Winter Games as opportunities to further enhance the bilateral relationship between Korea and China.
